2023 Volunteer Preferences

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for The City of Monroe!

We look forward to partnerships with volunteers to enable us to effectively serve the citizens of our community. In order to ensure the safety of our volunteers and protect the interests of The City of Monroe, we require potential volunteers to complete this questionnaire form and participate in a background check when applicable.

Note: If you are volunteering for a specific event, for example the Monroe Festival, please submit your completed online volunteer form two weeks prior to the event. Again, as an example, if the event takes place on Saturday, June 24, please have your volunteer form submitted by Saturday, June 10.

Alcohol Monitors

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to a strategic location inside or outside the fenced Big Event Tent Area to ensure no festival participants leave with open containers of alcohol or consume alcohol outside the fenced Big Event Tent Area.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 21 years of age or older.

ID Checkers/Wrist Bands

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to the entrance of the fenced Big Event Tent Area to check Photo IDs to ensure all festival participants are 21 years of age or older before providing them with a wrist band.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 21 years of age or older.

Time Slot for ID Checkers/Wrist Bands

Trash Collectors

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to pick up trash from various locations through the festival and dispose of it in the one dumpster (location to be determined).

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 18 years of age or older; OR volunteer can be younger as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

Time Slot for Golf Cart Drivers

Parking Lot Attendants
(Monroe High School Location)

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to either the Monroe High School parking lot or Monroe Grade School parking lot to ensure festival participants are utilizing the available parking appropriately and operating motor vehicles safely.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 18 years of age or older.

Parking Lot Attendants
(Monroe Grade School Location)

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to either the Monroe High School parking lot or Monroe Grade School parking lot to ensure festival participants are utilizing the available parking appropriately and operating motor vehicles safely.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 18 years of age or older.

Festival Signage at Monroe High School

DESCRIPTION: Reports to the Festival Volunteer Coordinator and will be assigned to setup and take down sandwich boards and other festival signage through the festival area.

REQUIREMENTS: Volunteer must complete City of Monroe Volunteer Application and be 18 years of age or older; OR volunteer can be younger as long they are accompanied by an adult.
